Motivational Interviewing

Coldspring Center

The National Health Care for the Homeless Council, in collaboration with Coldspring Center, is offering HCH grantees an exclusive opportunity. The Council will provide a total of 30 subsidies on a first come, first served basis to individuals who complete Coldspring’s Motivational Interviewing Course!

The Motivational Interviewing (MI) online training is designed to bring a foundation of best practices and innovative approaches to human service providers. According to the founders, William Miller and Stephen Rollnick, “Motivational interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for, and commitment to, a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.”

Motivational Interviewing is a critical tool for those in the helping profession. Many clients have substantial difficulty making behavioral changes. This course is designed to give providers all the information they need to implement MI effectively with their clients. Coldspring Center collaborates with the National Association of Social Workers – Colorado Chapter to offer 8 CEC’s with the completion of the entire training. Coldspring Center provides the online trainings and manages them through a learning management system.
