Job Overview

If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Physician position opening at our Tenderloin Health Services location in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate has the ability to work professionally with clients suffering from mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness. In this position, you will gain a deep understanding of the drivers responsible for poor health outcomes in a safety net clinic; become familiar with complex challenges; as well as work alongside an enthusiastic team of medical and behavioral health providers. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive oriented ambulatory primary care as part of an integrated health care team in a Patient Centered Health Home delivery model.
  • Provide primary care to those with chronic disease, addiction, and mental illness.
  • Understand social determinants of health, impact on health, and referral to support addressing patient needs regarding determinants.
  • Assist Medical Director in supporting mid-level practitioner and review mid-level practitioner and/or peer-physician charts.
  • May act as clinical lead in the absence of the Medical Director.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • M.D. or D. O. degree from an accredited United States medical school.
  • Successful completion of internship and residency in primary care specialty with experience managing patients with substance use disorder/addiction.
  • Proficiency in a language in addition to English, specifically Spanish.

Required Certification/Licensure:  

  • Board Certified in family medicine or internal medicine.
  • Valid and active California medical license, without any limitations on license to practice in specialty.
  • Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs.
  • Valid and active DEA license with X waiver to prescribe buprenorphine; if does not have X waiver must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certificate or recertification within 2 months of hire
