The Portland Community Health Center, a federally qualified health center in the heart of downtown Portland, is seeking an experienced internal medicine or family physician to lead our interdisciplinary, mission driven team as medical director of our Health Care for Homeless program.
The Portland Community Health Center has four sites, serving over 5000 patients. The physician in this position will provide direct patient care at our 63 Preble Street site while also providing supervision for mid-level providers and administrative leadership for the site.
We are seeking a full time Internal Medicine or Family practice physician with 3-5 years of experience to lead our 63 Preble Street site, which primarily provides care to adult patients experiencing homelessness, including brief and chronic homelessness, short and long shelter stays and many secondary refugees and new arrivals from other countries seeking asylum. Previous experience working with underserved populations and previous leadership experience in an FQHC environment are strongly preferred. Must be dedicated to mission, committed to caring for individuals experiencing homelessness, flexible and highly collaborative.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical school with active board certification. Additional training in medical management preferred. Must have an active Maine license and DEA number.
