Tampa Family Health Centers delivers health services to people who are homeless in the Tampa area through its satellite facilities, Tampa Family Health Centers and a mobile van.

Services

The project operates a clinic and an outreach/case managements unit.  The clinic is located in the vicinity of a number of homeless shelters, a homeless family care unity, and several soup kitchens.  The clinic is staffed by a full-time physician, a dentist and a dental hygienist.  Tampa Family Health center provides primary health care, case management, social services, and health and nutrition education to families, single adults and youths. 24 hour emergency on-call, Asthma treatment, Basic Needs, Behavioral/Mental Health Care Services, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Case Management/Social Services, Contraceptives (issued w/counseling), Dental/oral Care, Diabetes Testing/Care, Documenting Disability Services, Electronic Medical Records, Family Planning, Financial counseling, Flu Vaccinations, Health/Nutritional Education, HIV/AIDS screening/education, Immunizations, Interpretation services, Labs, Medication Prescribing, Medication Dispensing, Mental Health Counseling, Mobile Medical Services, OB/GYN, Outreach, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Physical Exams, Primary Health Care, Referrals for Specialty Care, STD Testing, Street Outreach, TB screening/education, Tobacco cessation, Transportation services,

Linkages include Hillsborough County Homeless Coalition, Bay Area Legal Services, VA Homeless Office, Salvation Army, Metropolitan Ministries, Tampa Housing Authority, and other shelters and agencies working with individuals who are homeless.
