Colorado Coalition for the Homeless – Stout Street Clinic
Through its Stout Street Clinic, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) has been providing integrated health care, mental health care, dental services, substance treatment services, and housing assistance to people who are homeless in metro Denver since 1985. Since 1993, through Public Housing Primary Care, health care and mental health care have also been provided to residents of the Denver public housing development, known as Quigg Newton, and the immediately surrounding neighborhood.
Services include preventive and primary care, prenatal, pediatric, dental, ophthalmic/optometric, mental health, substance abuse treatment, pharmaceutical, outreach, case management, benefits acquisition, a children’s center, medical respite, vocational, residential, supportive housing, rental assistance, and permanent affordable housing. Colorado Coalition for the Homeless also provides education and advocacy activities throughout the State of Colorado, including an annual conference focusing on homelessness. CCH’s housing development activities have created more than 1,500 units of housing for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC) provides emergency, inpatient, and specialty services. St. Joseph’s Hospital provides radiology services. SSC maintains other linkages with hospitals, educational institutions and homeless service agencies. Other linkages include Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) continuum of Care), and Mental Health Center of Denver.
