Current Clinicians’ Network Projects

The HCH Clinicians’ Network sets the clinical agenda of the National HCH Council. In doing so, the Steering Committee chooses several clinical topics around which they build publications, trainings, webinars, and other resources. See our current project descriptions below with information on how you can be involved.

2014-2015 Clinical Projects

Project workgroups are chaired by members of the CN Steering Committee, but participation is open to all members. If you are a member of the Clinicians’ Network and have expertise in one of these fields, please email the contact person indicated below.

Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Health Care

The workgroup on transgender and gender-nonconforming people experiencing homelessness seeks to identify access barriers to services for transgender people experiencing homelessness. This workgroup will produce a train-the-trainer Preconference Institute in conjunction with the 2015 National HCH Conference, and a corresponding webinar. To participate in this project, contact Claudia Davidson.

Engaging Homeless Youth

Participants will continue the study from the previous fiscal year to identify promising practices for Engaging Homeless Youth by interviewing youth drop-in centers to complement prior year interviews with HCH grantees. To learn more about this project, contact Juli Hishida.

Clinical Curriculum

This workgroup develops descriptive material on HCH Best Practices as an initial step in the development of an HCH curriculum for students and new hires. The group will continue the work begun in a pilot program with clinical students in Orlando, Florida. To participate in this project, contact Michael Durham.

Adapted Anticipatory Guidance

This workgroup adapts anticipatory guidance for infants and toddlers experiencing homelessness. The audience will include clinicians and parents in families experiencing homelessness. This project takes up the work initiated by the former Children and Families Workgroup. If interested, contact Lily Catalano.

Healing Hands

Healing Hands is a Quarterly Publication produced by the Clinicians’ Network Communications Committee. Upcoming topics include Harm Reduction, Veteran Homelessness, and Transgender Health. To join this Committee, contact Maria Mayo.
