New Healing Hands: Non-Opioid Substance Use, Mental Health, & Homelessness

The Council’s latest Healing Hands examines Non-Opioid Substance Use, Mental Health, and Homelessness. While the opioid crisis has been the main focus of the health care community and the media over the last few years, substance use disorders go well beyond opioids to include additional drugs like methamphetamines, cocaine, alcohol, K2, and others.

This edition explores the current opioid epidemic as well as other commonly-used substances amongst people without homes. You will also learn about critical issues that intersect with substance use and mental health in homeless populations and find strategies for providers to reduce the impact of stigma on patient treatment.
