New Resource Examines the Role of Adverse Childhood Experiences in Health Outcomes

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic events experienced by an individual before age 18, including abuse, neglect, parental mental illness, substance use, incarceration, etc. ACEs compromise neurological development and increase the risk of immediate and long-term adverse health outcomes.

Our new fact sheet, developed in partnership with The Bassuk Center on Homelessness and Vulnerable Children and Youth, focuses on the connections between ACEs and homelessness and highlights effective screening and response tools.
