October 11 is National Depression Screening Day

National Depression Screening Day is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and screenings for depression and related mood and anxiety disorders. Research has shown linkages between depression and homelessness, and depression may be both a cause and a result of homelessness. It is important to not only screen patients for depression, but also to follow up positive screens with appropriate treatment and referrals.
