A Day of Remembrance: Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, December 21st

On December 21st we will remember those who have died while living without a home. Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day is a time to honor those we have lost and renew our focus to end homelessness. Every year the day is observed with events unique to each community. Please consider planning or attending an event in honor of those lives lost in homelessness. The Council has many resources available to help promote Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, including our updated HPMD Public Statement and Advocacy Agenda and an Organizing Manual with sample documents, planning resources and advocacy recommendations.

We are also excited to announce a Twitter Chat from 1-2 p.m CT on December 21st. Log on to Twitter and join the conversation by tweeting with the hashtag #NoMoreHomelessDeath. We will be discussing housing, health care, and human rights. Find the details on our Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day resources page or contact Katherine Cavanaugh, the Council’s Consumer Advocate, for more information.
