Cultural Humility in Focus at 2016 Spring Regional Training

2016 Spring Regional TrainingThe National HCH Council’s 2016 Spring Regional Training will offer a unique 1.5-day team workshop, “Improving Outcomes Through Cultural Humility.”

Understanding how cultural elements influence individuals’ beliefs surrounding health, wellness, and health services is key to providing patient-centered care, especially when working with vulnerable populations.

To address that topic, experts Bahiya Cabral-Johnson and Judy Johnson of the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians will employ a “train the trainer” model to equip workshop attendees with the necessary tools to help others within their community identify factors such as attitudes, biases, and traditions that can impede cultural awareness and create barriers to care.

This workshop is specifically designed for organizational teams consisting of two or more individuals. When registering, please indicate that you will be attending the session.

This is but one of the many sessions on offer at Denver 2016. Don’t miss it.
