Council Recognizes Veterans Experiencing Homelessness

Thank A VeteranJoin the National Health Care for the Homeless Council in recognizing those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces on this Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Part two of the Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress notes that over the course of one year, October 1, 2013, to September 30, 2014, 131,697 veterans used shelter services in the U.S. Though this number has decreased over the past 5 years, we are reminded that homelessness is still a reality for thousands of veterans, especially those not engaged in services. Help spread the word on free or discounted offerings from retailers and restaurants available to veterans. In addition, identify lodging offered through the “B&B for Vets” Program, which provides at least one free night for veterans.
