Council Celebrates National Rural Health Day

National Rural Health DayIn 2014, about 3 in 10 people using shelter services were in suburban and rural areas (29.5%), according to the Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress. Individuals experiencing homelessness in rural areas face a number of physical and mental health conditions but have inadequate access to health care. Join the National Health Care for the Homeless Council in celebrating National Rural Health Day: a day to recognize rural health care providers and communities overcoming barriers to deliver care to the underserved, many of whom are homeless.
