New Crime Victim’s Compensation Fact Sheet Released

The National Health Care for the Homeless Council has released a new fact sheet on Crime Victim’s Compensation programs. People experiencing homelessness are more likely to be victimized than those with housing, but a National Consumer Advisory Board survey of individuals experiencing homelessness found that only 14 percent of respondents were aware of victim compensation funds. This fact sheet discusses such programs, how to apply to them, and strategies for overcoming potential barriers to use for homeless individuals.
