NHCHC staff publishes editorial about National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day

Last week, the Tennessean published an editorial by Council staff member Brian Zralek calling attention to National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. “Help Us Resolve Homelessness” calls for these observances to motivate change in how people perceive those experiencing homelessness. Zralek hopes that recognizing National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day will “challenge those beliefs that homelessness is a choice or that people who experience homelessness are lazy, ignorant or unworthy, and instead to see them as human.”

Brian Zralek coordinates and organizes the work of the National Consumer Advisory Board (NCAB), which is made up of former clients of health care for the homeless projects who assist in governance and provide vital recommendations on the direction of the Council.
