Services Planned for Karen Rotondo

Karen RotondoKaren Rotondo, RN, the “Founding Mother” of the Health Care for the Homeless Clinicians’ Network, passed away on November 6 at her daughter Suzanne’s home in Philadelphia after a six month battle with cancer.  Karen directed the HCH program in Springfield, Massachusetts, and afterwards served as the Technical Assistance Coordinator for the National HCH Council.  We will remember her for her infectious, joyous spirit, for her dedication to quality health care and to the HCH community, and for her love for her late husband Gil and their family.

A brief service will be held at Woodside Cemetery in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, on Saturday, November 16th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. This will be followed by a celebration of her life at the Roadhouse Café in Hyannis from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

In lieu of Flowers, Karen requested that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.
