This week the Continuing Resolution funding the government through September 30 was signed into law. Health centers received an $300 million increase in combined annual and Affordable Care Act funding, but the automatic cuts of the sequester remain in effect. The $300 million increase will allow health centers to absorb the $120 million reduction from sequestration and provide $180 million for increases in base grants and new funding opportunities. Other sources of public funding will suffer real reductions, likely increasing homelessness and the demand for HCH services. Please document examples of the impact of these cuts and communicate them to lawmakers, local media, and the Council!
