Teaching Health Centers: Seeking Accreditation to Provide Graduate Medical Education

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

This webinar will provide an overview of the HRSA THCGME Program, eligibility requirements, and what health centers can do to prepare to apply. Many health centers recognize the benefit of having residents serve patients and learn at their sites, and thus, consider themselves, “Teaching Health Centers.” However, many of these health centers are not accredited and do not receive additional funding for providing these educational opportunities. Becoming an accredited Teaching Health Center (THC) that provides Graduate Medical Education renders benefits not only to the health center but also to the health center staff, residents who participate in the program and the community where the health center is located.
