Policy brief published by Kaiser Family Foundation

The National Health Care for the Homeless Council’s policy brief on health coverage and care for homeless populations has been published by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

A collaborative effort with the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, the policy brief was written by Barbara DiPietro, policy director, and Sarah Knopf, research assistant, both with the National HCH Council.

Medicaid Coverage and Care for the Homeless Population: Key Lessons to Consider for the 2014 Medicaid Expansion” examines Medicaid expansion provided by the Affordable Care Act and its effect on those with incomes at 138% or less of the federal poverty level.
