CNN Interviews Council on Obesity

A May 25 feature in CNN.com’s Health section interviews the Council’s Policy Director, Barbara DiPietro, about the rates of obesity among homeless people found in a new study.  “Nutrition is hard to tackle and is often overlooked in discussions about homelessness and health,” says John Lozier, Executive Director of the Council.  “The connection to high rates of diabetes and hypertension among homeless people is obvious, and poor nutrition affects many other health conditions.  It is equally distressing that the general population is as obese as are poorly-nourished people without homes.”
