- The GOAL of our training activities is to improve the health care provided to people experiencing homelessness in a way that leads to resolving their homeless condition.
- Our APPROACH to training is to identify and build on the strengths of
the people who work in the homeless health care field and who have accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and expertise.
- Our ROLE as an organization is to...
-
glean what has been learned through practice in this field;
-
organize and consolidate those experiences;
-
enhance the information with other resources and research;
-
place it in an appropriate historical, philosophical or political context; and
-
deliver it back to the field in a coherent and accessible format that effectively spreads the lessons learned.
Although our primary audience consists of people who work in the homeless health care field (including all clinicians, administrators, support staff, volunteers, and advisory group or board members), many of the training activities and resources are also relevant and valuable for those who work with homeless people in other organizations, as well as for general education of the public at large. |
