Donna Smith became a strong advocate for single-payer health care after a diagnosis of cancer that resulted in bankruptcy and ultimately to the loss of her home. After her appearance in Michael Moore’s documentary, SiCKO, Donna appeared in numerous TV and radio interviews nationwide and with BBC & Japan TV. She is currently the editor for Black Hills Pioneer, an award winning series on poverty in South Dakota, and a reporter with numerous awards from Associated Press Managing Editors.
Rev. Dr. Craig Rennebohm has worked with homeless, mentally ill individuals on the street for twenty years. He has developed the Relational Outreach and Engagement Model that has provided a basic framework for the National HCH Manual on Outreach. He is the author of Souls in the Hands of a Tender God: Stories of he Search for Healing and Home on the Streets (Beacon Press, 2008).
