Job Description
Marketing and Communications Internship will provide the opportunity of increasing awareness of the Council’s national conference, regional conferences, and fundraising events. This internship is unpaid and requires a commitment to work 6-8 hours per week.
This internship will provide the student with experience working for a national nonprofit while enhancing marketing and communications skills. By the end of the internship, the student will meet the following objectives:
- Understand marketing strategies for a large-scale national conference, regional conferences, and fundraising events
- Describe effective methods for recruiting conference and event attendees
- Articulate key aspects of special event coordination
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook email and Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations
- For Marketing internship, familiarity with Database software preferably Filemaker Pro, and web-based email marketing products, preferably Constant Contact
Requirements
- For Public Health, Current Masters of Public Health students are preferred.
- For Social Work, Second Year MSSW students are preferred, however, well qualified first year students will be considered
- For Marketing and Communications, the preferred majors/areas of study include: communications, marketing, journalism, and public relations
