Project Description
The Charles Drew Homeless Clinic (CDHC) is
a satellite clinic of Charles Drew Health Center.
The clinic operates out of two sites, Siena-Francis
Homeless Shelter, the only daytime shelter in
Omaha, and Catholic Charities Campus for Hope
Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center.
Services
Primary health care services are delivered
on-site by a physician assistant under the direction
of an internal medicine physician. Medical services
that are not available at the homeless clinics
are provided at the Charles Drew Health Center's
main facility, and referrals are made to providers
in the community.
Linkages
Through coordination and collaboration with
other community providers, CDHC is able to enhance
the level of services available to individuals
who are homeless. Linkages include Community
Alliance for mental health services, Catholic
Charities for substance abuse services, Douglas
County Primary Health Care, Omaha Continuum
of Care, and Project Hope Medical Outreach.
