Project Description

The Hunter Health Clinic is a Community Health Center, Health Care for the Homeless Center, and Urban Indian Health Clinic, serving persons in the greater Wichita and Sedgwick County area.

Services

Hunter Health Clinic's services include medical, dental, mental health, alcohol/substance abuse, medication and insulin, outreach, transportation, translation, and HIV/AIDS testing and counseling services. Hunter Health Clinic operates four primary care clinic sites. One satellite clinic is located at Ti'Wiconi Safe Haven, a transitional shelter
for persons experiencing homelessness who are severely and persistently mentally ill. An RN conducts rounds at the homeless shelters providing TB screening, immunizations, sick calls, intake for the clinic, and referrals to other services. Other services include inpatient detoxification.

Linkages

Hunter Health Clinic has linkages with 12 local shelters (Anthony Family Shelter, Salvation Army Emergency Lodge, Miracles House, Harbor House, Inter-Faith Inn, Gerard House, Ti'Wiconi Safe Haven, YWCA Women's Crisis House, Union Rescue Mission, Drop In Center, Overflow Shelter), American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Center of Hope, United Way, churches, and other agencies in the local homeless coalition.
