| Linda Barnet, outgoing Network Chair, welcomed meeting attendees and gave a brief annual report.

The Steering Committee also developed its first work plan this year. This work plan includes specific activities for the 2009-2010 fiscal year on 3 priority topics culled from last year’s Network Membership Meeting:
Linda listed and described the standing and working committees of the Network.
Linda announced that during the annual Steering Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 24, the Committee elected its officers for 2009 – 2010: Chair: Barbara Wismer, MD, MPH Linda then turned the Membership Meeting over to the newly elected chair, Barb Wismer, who thanked Linda for her leadership and presented her with a very special thank you gift. Barb introduced Nominating Committee chair, Lisa Thompson. Lisa presented the slate of Steering Committee nominees and asked Network members to approve the slate by a show of hands. Members approved the following slate for election to the Steering Committee to serve a three-year term, 2009 – 2012: Brian Colangelo, MSW, LSW, Project H.O.P.E., Camden NJManuela Lopez, RN, Austin Resource Center for the Homeless Clinic, Austin TX Danielle Robertshaw, MD, Unity Health Care, Inc., Washington DC And, for reelection to the Steering Committee for a second three-year term, 2009 – 2012: Jan Caughlan, MSW, LCSW-C, Health Care for the Homeless, Inc., Baltimore MD Lisa then recognized and thanked two Steering Committee members whose terms end today: Betsy Baldwin, BS, SCCD, CCDP, McKinney HCH, Bridgeport CT Brenda Proffitt, former Director of the Network, presented Patricia Post with a gift in recognition of her retirement after 10 years of service to the Council. In collaboration with Network members, Pat developed and contributed to many publications including Healing Hands newsletters, case reports and the very useful adapted clinical guidelines. Barb introduced new Council staff: Barbara DiPietro, PhD, Policy Director, Baltimore MD Barb then introduced Molly Meinbresse who became the Network Coordinator in January 2009. Bob Donovan, outgoing Network Treasurer, thanked and recognized Brenda Proffitt for her dedication and leadership as Network Director since its inception in 1995. Brenda facilitated the development of policies and procedures for the HCH Clinicians’ Network when it started; conceived the idea of the very popular and longstanding Healing Hands newsletter; formed strong partnerships with other homeless organizations; managed the daily activities of all network committees; and initiated annual campaigns to promote new membership in the Network. Brenda remains with the Council as the Communications and Membership Director. Barb encouraged meeting attendees to visit the Network committee representatives sitting at tables in the back of the room before leaving the meeting. Committee chairs and members were available to discuss the purpose and activities of the following committees: Communications, Education, Membership, Nominating, Pediatrics and Research. The meeting then adjourned.
